Pregnancy Collage FAQs

Can I have my hair and makeup done?

Yes of course. If you’d like a professional to take the reins with your hair and make-up, I can certainly arrange that for you. However please bear in mind that one of the key things we need to think about during these sessions is consistency, so it’s worth considering whether you’re ready to pay for full hair and make-up before each and every session.

The lady I work with is the lovely Gemma Hull who specialises in gorgeous natural make-up and ‘wow’ hairstyles that will make you look and feel amazing. To see some of Gemma’s work, head on over to her website Gemma Hull Hair and Make-Up. Full hair and make-up costs just £75

How do I book?

The first thing to do is get in touch! Send me a message via my contact form and I’ll get back to you at a time that suits you. We’ll have a quick chat so that I can find out a bit more about you and the style of photographs that you’re drawn to, so that I can tailor your session accordingly. I know it can take courage to book a photoshoot where all the focus is on you so this consultation is also a great opportunity for you to get a feel for who I am and hopefully relax a little about what’s to come.

Providing you’re happy to go forwards, we’ll complete a standard contract that explains all the relevant terms and conditions and set up a payment plan. Please note that progress photograph sessions will not go ahead unless all payments are up to date.

How much credit will I get towards a maternity/newborn shoot?

Because clients can come to me at varying stages of their pregnancy, the total amount they pay for their collage will differ. That’s why the credit you receive is earned on a pro-rata basis. With each monthly payment made, you will receive a £5 contribution towards either a maternity or newborn photography session.

Me/My child/My Partner are poorly - can we still come for our photoshoot?
As a newborn photographer, I have to be really careful not to pass on any nasty germs to the babies that enter my studio so, please, if you have any contagious illnesses, I do ask that you stay away from the studio for at least 48 hours. There is no charge for rescheduling planned sessions due to illness, so let’s be safe rather than sorry.
What are the terms and conditions?
Standard terms and conditions can be found here.
What if something goes wrong with my pregnancy?
As much as we hate to think about things like this, it is understandably something at the forefront of our mind when we consider investing (money, emotion, hope) into our pregnancy in those early stages. I myself have experienced multiple miscarriages and have talked a little about my thoughts on pregnancy collages in this blog post. Whatever happens with your pregnancy, your progress photographs will provide an irreplaceable tangible memory of the baby that you were never able to hold in your arms.
What is the charity donation?

I am passionate about helping families across Gloucestershire to celebrate family life but I know that not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to afford a luxury such as professional photography to help them do this. From an early stage in my business, I decided that I would do my bit to support those who can’t, so I chose to donate a portion of all standard packages sold to two charities in Gloucestershire that resonated with my values, Gloucestershire Bundles and The Family Haven.

You can find out a little more about this here.

What should I expect from the photo sessions?

During your first session, we’ll take a little time to make sure that you are happy with the photograph that will set the benchmark for the rest of your sessions. After that, your progress photo sessions are going to super quick! Pop into the studio, I’ll grab the photo and you’ll be on your way again! Of course, if you’d like to stick around for a cuppa, you’ll be more more than welcome!

You can find out a little more about this here.

Where is your studio?
My studio is located at my home in Longlevens, moments off the A40 and M5 motorway, making it ideally situated for clients in Gloucester, Cheltenham and further afield.
Will you use my images?

I’d love to! But I will never show your photographs to anyone without your consent. When you sign your portrait photography contract, you’ll be asked permission to use photographs from your session for marketing purposes. I know that some people feel uneasy about this until they’ve seen their images and that’s fine. You’re welcome to make up your mind at your view and order session and, if you’re happy for me to share your beautiful images with the world, I’ll simply fill ask you to fill in a model release consent form. And of course, if you’d prefer they stayed private, then that’s absolutely fine as well.

I wrote a blog post which goes into a little more detail about this here.
