By way of an update for my clients and in order to comply with government guidelines, this post summarises the additional precautions that are being taken by me, in my business, in order to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19. This post will be updated as government guidelines change over the coming weeks and months. Updated 13th May 2021.
Studio Photoshoots
I only take on a maximum of three photoshoots per week, typically spread over at least two or three days. This gives me plenty of time to deep clean and disinfect all objects and surfaces that are touched during a photography session. Fabrics and props which cannot be deep-cleaned will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours before their next use. A hand sanitiser dispenser is available for use on entry to and exit from the studio, as well as frequently throughout your session. Windows will be kept open for ventilation where feasible.
The Moments by Katie Mitchell studio is large enough to maintain social distancing of two metres during most sessions. Clients will be asked to make themselves comfortable in the seating area until they are called upon. I will be wearing a mask during all studio sessions.
A refreshments area is available, although current guidelines state that I must only provide disposable cups for drinks. As always, clients are welcome to bring their own refreshments. This is strongly encouraged for newborn sessions which are typically longer in duration than other photoshoots.
In the unlikely event that clients fail to observe the safety measures requested of them, their session will be terminated.
At this stage, all studio photography sessions are available for booking. Clients in high risk groups may wish to head outdoors for their sessions if they wish.
Moments by Katie Mitchell terms and conditions have been amended to include a mandatory confirmation from all clients that they must not attend the studio if:
- Anyone in their household displays symptoms of COVID-19 within 14 days prior to their photoshoot.
- Anyone in their household has come into contact with someone confirmed as having COVID-19 within 14 days prior to their photoshoot.
All photoshoots will be suspended for a minimum of 14 days if I, or anyone in my household, shows any symptoms of COVID-19 or has been in contact with someone confirmed as having COVID-19.
Outdoor Photoshoots
There are no major changes to outdoor photoshoots, which use longer lenses by standard, allowing me to keep my distance.
I hope this puts your mind at rest about booking in for your photoshoot. If you have any questions about the precautions being taken, please feel to get in touch.
