Hi Lucy – it’s fab to catch up. I know I’ve barely touched the surface with what you do there, please can you tell us more about Imaginatal Gloucester and everything you can help expectant mums with locally?

Yes! Imaginatal is an award winning provider of private prenatal ultrasound scanning services to expectant mothers, giving peace of mind and reassurance throughout their pregnancy. We offer a range of scans to patients depending on their gestational age; these include Early Reassurance Scans, from 6 weeks in order to date the pregnancy, Gender Scans from 16 weeks to identify the sex of the baby and 4D Scans from 24 weeks too. We also carry out Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) to screen for chromosomal aneuploidies such as Down’s, Eduard’s and Patau’s syndromes. We also offer Well Women scans for those undergoing fertility treatments.

I know I had a really good experience when I visited you during my pregnancies. Are there any memorable stories that highlight the impact of your services for families?

We had a client who wasn’t sure how far along in her pregnancy she was. She attended an early assurance scan and I stayed with her for moral support – she found out she was 34 weeks along! This was a shock but we did all the health checks on the baby and she was so taken aback by the care she received that she brought in flowers, and once baby was born she contacted me personally to inform me, which was really special.

Oh wow, that definitely would have been a shock! That’s so lovely that you were able to support her through that. What advice would you give to expectant mums looking to make the most of their pregnancy journey and those precious early days of parenthood?

Enjoy each moment, pregnancy is a rollercoaster like no other! And take all the help you can get. Parenthood is such a big change in your life, so if you have support around you, let them help!

Absolutely. What do you find most rewarding about working with families during such a special time in their lives?

We love being able to help and assist pregnant women and we’re honoured to have families come to us for scans at Imaginatal during this precious time. Watching their pregnancy develop from that first early scan all the way through to having a growth scan towards the end; it really is a privilege to be a part of that journey with them. 

Amazing. Are there any future plans or news you’d like to share about the business?

We’ve just had an evolving time at Imaginatal as we now do health scans and blood tests, so we’re now able to help everyone in the family and not just the mums! We’re also franchising out and looking to open more clinics around the UK to be able to help even more families around the country.
