Katie is an amazing photographer. I already knew this from having had a maternity photoshoot with her whilst pregnant with my youngest, so I was excited about the ‘Mummy & Me’ photoshoot in Katie’s studio. I was given information beforehand so I felt at ease with where I was going, what I needed to take and what was expected of me. Katie is so easy to talk to; communication beforehand was easy and I felt I could ask or clarify things to help with us all on the day.
As a single mum I don’t have anyone to take photos of me with the children, so the chance to put some make-up on, do my hair and wear some of the gorgeous dresses Katie had – and, most importantly, to come away with gorgeous photos of me and my two boys – was lovely! We did soon realise that I should have had a helper to help keep my boys in tow, but Katie was so calm, helpful and great with them, which helped put me at ease and the time flew by. The children loved Katie. All of us were so comfortable around her, which I feel is so important and helps produce better photos.
The variety of outfits for the children and myself was exciting to see and try. I also took outfits and props that I wanted the children to wear/have and Katie was more than happy to accommodate my needs. The whole photoshoot went really well, I had ideas that Katie took on and made reality and she had ideas and thoughts that showed in the photos how amazing she is at her job, putting passion, attention to detail and customer wants into the results. I came away so excited to what the photos were going to look like and couldn’t wait to see them!
When going back to view and choose the photos I was amazed and so happy with the results. I didn’t look at myself thinking how fat I looked, like usual, I actually thought how happy me and my boys were, showing how much love there is. I now have a variety of photos around the house of me with each of the boys, the boys together, the boys alone and plenty of me with all of us and also a canvas of amazing quality. Katie didn’t pressure me into buying anything I wasn’t sure on and I was clear what was included in the package and the prices when trying to make my decision.
I can’t wait to get back in the studio with Katie and use her as our family photographer for many years to come. She definitely captures the happiness, love and joy in all of us.
